Hi, I’m Tom. I write about weird, clever, and sometimes overlooked Steam games that caught my eye. This blog’s still young — but there’s already plenty to play and chat about.
I started TomPlaysGames because I love digging through Steam for those odd, surprising, or just plain fun games that don’t always make the front page.
This blog isn’t about big releases or hype — it’s just me sharing what I find, what I like, and sometimes what made me go, “uh… what did I just play?”
I keep things casual, honest, and spoiler-light.
If you’re into offbeat games or just looking for something different, welcome.

Here’s what I’ve been playing (and overthinking) lately. Expect short takes, strong opinions, and maybe a few weird game choices — I go where the curiosity leads.
May 20, 2025
A surreal turn-based RPG where every attack feels like a brushstroke — beautiful, strange, and a little bit haunting.
May 28, 2025
A slick, fast-paced squad-based battle royale with tight gunplay, hero abilities, and that classic “just one more round” feeling.
May 16, 2025
A sharp, modern remake of a survival horror classic — intense, atmospheric, and surprisingly funny (when Leon’s not being attacked by cultists).
May 27, 2025
A chaotic, bizarre rail shooter where you fend off lovestruck girls using a “pheromone gun” — and yes, it’s exactly as wild as it sounds.
#soonish
I’ve got a few wild picks in the queue — some strange, some awesome, and one that already gave me a headache (in a good way?). Stay tuned, I’ll drop them soon.
July 1, 2025
A loud, loot-heavy FPS where you blast your way through chaotic alien planets with wild guns, over-the-top humor, and a whole lot of explosions. It’s messy, ridiculous fun — on purpose.
July 4, 2025
A social deduction game where crewmates complete tasks on a spaceship — while hidden impostors try to sabotage and eliminate them without getting caught. Suspicion and betrayal guaranteed.
July 9, 2025
A haunting open-world shooter with radioactive danger, weird anomalies, and the constant feeling that something’s watching you.
July 12, 2025
A dark, atmospheric action-RPG where you inhabit fallen warrior shells to survive brutal combat and uncover a cryptic, ruined world. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes bonus content and the haunting soundtrack.

Little things I jot down while playing, testing, breaking games (accidentally), or just thinking out loud. Not full reviews — just honest, messy thoughts from the middle of the process.

Sometimes the best game tips come from you — these are titles that popped up in my inbox or DMs more than once. I’m checking them out and will definitely write more soon.
Strange, atmospheric, and full of mystery — I’ve had a few people mention this one, and yeah, it’s definitely on my radar.
No idea what I’m walking into here, but the mix of chaos and charm makes it way too interesting to skip.
I tried it once, bounced off, but so many of you keep recommending it — I’m giving it another shot soon.
This one came out of nowhere — thanks for the nudge. I still remember the jumpscares in the vault from back in the day.
#faqthings
Not always. I try to spend enough time to really “get” the game — usually several hours at least — but if something’s really not clicking, I’d rather be honest than force it.
100% yes — and people already do. If it sounds like something I’d vibe with (or be totally confused by in a fun way), I’ll probably add it to the list.
Mostly PC these days — easier for screenshots and notes. But I sneak in a bit of console time when I want to lean back and not think too hard about keybindings.
Yep, just me here. No team, no ghostwriters — every weird sentence and typo is mine. I like it that way.
Anything with atmosphere, a weird idea, or cool mechanics. I bounce between genres a lot — one week it’s cozy farming, the next it’s cosmic horror.
I used to think about adding them, but honestly? I’d rather just talk like a person. If I liked it, you’ll know. If I didn’t, you’ll know that too. No need for stars.
